White Pepper Powder is a Spice made from the dried seeds of the Piper nigrum plant. This is actually the same plant used in the production of black pepper. But to produce white pepper, the outer layer of the peppercorn is removed, only leaving inside the seed before it is dried and grounds whole. The powder is pale cream or light grayish-white in color, due to the removal of the outer skin during processing. White Pepper Powder has a much less potent fragrance than black pepper and is often more subtle. Whether as an addition to soups, sauces, stir-fries, or even egg dishes, White Pepper Powder lends an elegant, understated heat and flavor to your meals.
